Cthulhu Saves the World App Reviews

I bought it on steam. Then i bought it on my iPhone to take it everywhere with me. Its the only game i ever paid for and no doubt, its worth it. 10/10 would buy again

The quality of the presentation is a bit off, but everything else is great - the combat is fluent and not-cheap, the story and dialoguse are funny and cute and its CTHULHU! The game is more than worth it for its prise. Im taking one star away just because of the blurry texturse - pixels need true ID. I want to see squares on the pixels, not blurred squares.

I feel the game needs a virtual d-pad and a screen rotation feature. Sorry for the bad review.

Wow the file is huge for an 8 bit game and yea update the controls. Looking forward to the improvements this is the 2nd time Ive bought this btw, got it on steam, love the game.

Loving the game so far but it needs an update. Virtual dpad is needed along with screen rotation. Only giving a good review because I am faithful the debs will update.

The game in general is funny its like a classic 16 bit adventure but feels new there is a lot of jokes in the game and it will keep you entertained for a long time but there are a couple bad things about it the first one is there is no screen rotation which should be in every app by now the second thing is that the controls are very glitchy but they already said there gonna fix that soon and the final bad thing is that because its on iPhone and iPad I wish they would use some type of iCloud save so that I could play the game at home on my iPad and continue my game on my iPhone. But overall its a funny good rpg that just needs a bit of tweaks if you want a more polished version just buy it on steam for pc.

I like this game but frequent crashes are frustrating

I have no problem w/ it or crashes and controls arent too bad, it just need some time to get used to. But I do prefer d-pad option as well. I think u should get it :)

I love the style and all the retro touches but the game is simply too hard to play in its current state. Add a d-pad for movement and maybe an easier way to select attacks (ie I can touch item instead of having to scroll down and hi A to select item) and I will change this to a five star rating for sure :)

A lot of reviewers are giving one star simply because they want a d-pad. Honestly the controls work fine how they are. The entire screen is your dpad, meaning you arent limited in the way you hold your phone while playing. I am about halfway through the game at the time of this review and have had zero crashes and an overall great game experience. Good characters and an amusing story. Highly recommended to fans of old school RPGs.

The game looks good but I cant get past the first zone because it crashes once i enter a battle, controls are difficult but manageable. -Fix crashes -add D pad = 5 stars

I cannot recommend this game highly enough. At its core, Cthulhu Saves the World is a loving parody of 8 and 16 bit RPGs of the late 80s and early 90s; but everything here is so pitch-perfect that it both pays tribute and satirizes at the same time. The soundtrack is brilliant and the visual aesthetic is right on the mark. The writing is witty and light-hearted sharing parodies of both Lovecrafts mythos and 4th-wall-breaking commentary. Worth your hard-earned $$$.

The farthest I can go is the difficulty option. Fix this please

Needs option to just tap where you want your character to go like grinsia. Also the menu and text please make a larger option other than that perfect!

this version crashes all the time. especially during boss battles! please fix this so we can enjoy this game!

Really good game and really happy to see it on the store but... Bad controls. Hard to move around and, imo, unplayable. A virtual arrow pad could help a lot.

Played on steam and wanted to start over on mobile. I have yet to get past the 3 heroes as the app crashes every single time I defeat them. This really is an excellent game and I would gladly give it 5 if the crashes would just stop. D-pad would be nice but can live without it.

Screen does not auto-rotate, which is annoying. Controls are ok. Overall pretty good but needs a bit more polish.

First off, the writing is fantastic in this game. Laught out loud funny (which disturbs those in the same room who arent reading along). The combat system is great because random encounters demand your concentration - just hitting fight everytime can easily result in defeat, and spamming high MP spells will send you packing back to the nearest inn before finishing a dungeon. The branching levelling system makes it fun to level up, giving you real choice in future tactics.

Bought it before latest update and was very disappointed. Post-patch it is great and definitely worth getting. The dialogue is hilarious and gameplay is great.
